Good news is I’ve seen some clean older or old rigs for sale in the Midwest recently, obviously imported from outside the rust belt, and the pricing like everywhere else has softened.
Issue is your selection will be much less than other areas.
FWIW, whether it’s an old car or whatever, limiting oneself to a very small geographical region when trying to find a deal or something rare is not near as productive as opening up your search to the max distance you’re willing to travel.
