Low oil pressure in drive but good in park???

Variable viscosity. the 15- means after it warms up it will have the weight of 15 weight oil. 40 weight at start-up. SAE 40 or 30 will have that main viscosity all the time.

Holy ****. So our diesel trucks run hot on 15 weight? I learnt sumtin today. I also learnt my tired Burb runs on 5w hot. :shitsweak:

I never realized that.

No no no. After the truck warms up, the oil thins out to the equivalent of 15 weight. :deal:

:sorry: i over reacted...... installed new sending unit and pressure is good and solid from 10-30 and running down the road at about 15. :)

Un huh !!! And what did I say about getting another guage to verify??? Glad it all worked out. Good news. New sender is much cheaper than a new motor.

My truck runs 50 psi when cold at idle. When warm at 190 degrees about 2-3psi at idle lol

And its actually "suppost" to be 15 weight in cold and 40 weight when it warms up. You had it backwards
