Hello all! Like the title says, I've been lurking around this site for quite a while and I figure it's about time I introduced myself/truck.
I have a simple brown 86 c10, lwb. Came with the v6/three on the tree/2.73's. Bought it in southern PA, 80 something thousand miles, original everything. To make a long boring story short, the v6 suffered a catastrophic failure and I swapped in a 350 from a similar c10 I bought as a parts truck. No idea how many miles are on it, as the parts truck originally came equipped exactly like my c10, and a PO swapped the 350.
Right now, it's my DD. It has an edelbrock carb, weiand intake, dual snorkel that I made out of two factory cleaners, and true dual exhaust w/ long tubes, raptor muffs, no cats, empties before rear tires.
Nothing special, but makes me smile every time I drive. The granny 1st really make up for the 2.73's.
I run Valvoline VR-1 racing syn. 10w30 for the zinc (probably not necessary, but makes me all warm inside none-the-less) with purolator pure one filter.
Body is is great shape, very minimal rust on the cab corners. Paint has been a bit baked by the sun on the hood and roof, but I don't mind the look at all. Sits on the rally wheels wrapped in 275/70/15's.
Anyway, that's the low down on brown betty. Hopefully I can get some pics up later. Just figured I ought to start posting on here after all the very helpful info I have used this site for.
Thanks!
