I’ve had my ‘76 c10 over for a few months and got it running nicely at the beginning of last month, haven’t done loads of journeys in it but the ones i have it’s been running so smoothly and pretty reliably.

Today i’ve gone to get fuel ready to take it on its first longer drive to work on monday. The fuel station’s about 2/3 minutes away from where i keep it and when leaving the fuel station at traffic lights it started to sound like it was going to cut out, the lights changed and i revved it and about 20 seconds down the road it cut out. It started again and managed to get it round the corner and it cut out again; and then managed to get it back.

It’s not done this before, i thought maybe it was fuel filter being blocked but this is fine, have looked at the jets and fuel is coming out of both, have tried to mess with the mixture so it’s getting more fuel and still it keeps cutting out. Sometimes cuts out shortly after turning it on as it’s revving badly; and a few times i’ve got round the estate on a little test drive and it’s cut out.

Why would it be doing this because i’m really confused, is there something i can check? it’s been running so nicely up until this point and was running absolutely fine this morning. First time filling it up at the fuel station as before have been using jerry cans of fuel & seems fitting it’s broke down because the first time i drove my plymouth to the fuel station after getting that a few years ago it broke down as well ‍♀️

Pull the line off the carb and put it in a bottle and crank the engine over, it's should fill up in like 4 pumps. I'm betting bad fuel pump.

ok thank you will try that, it’s a brand new pump but i got it from rock auto so guess it could be a bit cheap and not very good. got a brand new master cylinder for my satellite off them recently and that was faulty when i fitted it as well
