Just got my K5 Blazer... got some questions

Got some dumb questions... havent owned a truck this old so im not sure if things are broken or im just not doin it right...

!983 K5 Blazer Silverado

1. How do you turn on the highbeams?

2. im assuming the turn signal lever also operates the windsheild wipoer spray(button on the end)

3. whats the button on the drivers floor near the kick panel for?(round button size of a few stacked quarters)

Floor switch is the highbeam switch, step on it to switch between high and lowbeam.

guess that switch doesnt work then... is it still in that same location if its on a manual trans setup?!

The floor button is always in the same spot regardless of trans.. It should have a pronounced click when you step on it. If not, it's bad.

As for the botton on the end of the turn sig stick, that's for cruise control. If your wiper washers are on the stick it'll be a paddle standing up at 12 o'clock that you twist.

I'm thinking the 83 wiper switch might still be on the dash next to the headlamp pull switch. If so, then you'll side it left to right to turn on/off and low/hi speed. you'd push the lever in to activate the sprayers.

My 83 k5 window washer sprayer is on the dash, you push in the wiper switch in and squirts the washer fluid the button on the floor is headlight high/low beam switch.

Yep, Wiper swith is on the dash, and high beam on the floor. The multifuncion switch turn signal started in 84.
