HA!

There is a rubber ring showing in the back of mine and you can see it's starting to separate, it's hard to explain but I think that's the problem with mine.

Holy f*ck, talk about an understatement.

When I said it was "normal" to see the rubber isolation ring sticking out from between the hub and balance ring... I was thinking like maybe 1/8".

That's unbelievable dude - I'm surprised it didn't completely separate and fly apart.

Anyway, it would appear that you've found your problem.

I was surprised to. It had no nose no wobble nothing until the belts starting flying off I'm great flu I caught it on time before it would do damage to the crank. I need it to last me while more before I drop in a 350ci thanks for all the suggestions guys

in the center of the crankshaft protruding from your timing cover. you should be able to thread a bolt. that bolt is what keeps the balancer attached to the crankshaft.

you need to get a long enough bolt to thread all the way into crankshaft( I use ready rod and a nut) and a nut to push the balancer on. its a good idea to gently tap the balancer on as far as possible with a rubber mallet before using the nut and bolt. be carefull not to strip the threads out of the crank shaft. once the pulley is all the way on reinstall original bolt into the crankshaft and tighten to specs. then reinstall pulley to balancer.

and don't forget to install the key into the keyway

1sik78 glad you got her done. I had a feeling that was the problem. I most disagree with chengny again, the balancer must bottom against the timing gear on the crank. this keeps both the timing gear and balancer from walking on the crank, causing other problems. I say it again where the balancer sits is nonnegotiable it goes all the way on or it's not right. highdesertranger
