I don't have much experience with proform stuff but the stuff I have bought of there's seemed kinda cheap.that being said I'd go with summit or crane because their stuff usually seems good.

@Ricko1966 Oaky. I’ll pick up the Summit one. It’s in stock for Saturday pickup. I’ll post an update on Saturday afternoon. Have a Happy Holiday.

I had a Mallory then a MSD in the 1972 over time. I had problems with the MSD ignition box, so I replaced it with a Summit one without issue. That’s the only reason I was going to pick one up. But, if it’s only the vacuum canister, I have a choice of same day pick up of Proform, Summit and Accel. And, it is connected to manifold vacuum. The ported is plugged. I believe the diaphragm on the vacuum can gave out, because it held zero pressure with a hand pump. It’ll get squared away tomorrow. My dogs will be happy to go for a ride, I don’t put them in the car.

@Ricko1966 New canister is in. Numbers are below.

14 idle @ 750 rpm
30 @ 3000 rpm (vacuum can and manifold port plugged)
Vac @ 18 idle (manifold vacuum)
Total timing @ 3000 = 48

Seemed like it would have take more timing, but left it at 48.

Look back where I said advance it 2 degrees at a time.Youre looking for mph on a measured distance. Not E.T.

Once you get best total, for mph. You're probably going to have to take a few degrees out of the vacuum can.

@Ricko1966 I just made runs and did timing adjustments. Numbers are below:

14 base, 18 mechanical, 18 vacuum = 61mph
16 base, 18 mechanical, 18 vacuum = 62mph
18 base, 18 mechanical, 18 vacuum = 65mph

18 showed total timing as 53 on the light.

How many degrees of vacuum do you recommend I remove if any? It ran good. No notice of torque, but definitely noticed more get up and go with response. Thank you, very much, again.

Pull 4 degrees out of the vacuum advance and pay attention for ping. No ping then all good

@Ricko1966 You’re the man. No pinging and temp gauge was good to go. I can’t thank you enough. I was literally thinking about selling the truck after all the nonsense after changing the flywheel, manifold and carb. It’s crazy how a bunch of small things can wreak havoc. The old vacuum gauge was like a straw sucking in air. What an over all change. Again, thank you, so much and have a Happy New Year.
