Hey guys, thought i would just pop in and say hi.
Cliff Notes: new here, big plans, hope they happen, pics of current "projects" below.
Will be a while before i'm a regular here, right now i'm just here to do research for a future project i have had in mind. Have been wanting to do a 5.3 turbo swap in something for a while, bought a parts car for my 87 conquest and started on that, ran out of a place to work on it and had to sell it. I race quads in my free time and after getting stuck in fields multiple times last season i am in need of something 4wd. Sure ya.. go out and buy a new truck right..? Nah i am a cheapo and don't want to be committed to a truck payment on a stock vehicle. My 87 conquest is my summer vehicle and right now i am driving my 97 s10( first vehicle) as a winter/ backup. After totaling it and having well over 210k on it, it's time for a new vehicle. NOW onto the reason i am here. I have always liked the square body trucks and from a cost standpoint it just makes sense for me. If i put 5-10k into a truck restoring and maintaining it i will both have a basically new truck and one that if anything mechanically went wrong i would be able to fix cheap and improve upon as needed. Plus after putting two transmissions into my s10 and having owned two other s10s with bad transmissions i am DONE with autos for a while. So now the big plans.. 5.3 or 6.0 turbo swap shooting for 450-500 hp, manual trans, dana60/14b in hopefully a crew cab lifted 4-8" on 35 or 37" tires that will be used to tow quads to races and occasionally vehicles on trailers. My biggest enemy is i live in an apartment complex and have nowhere to do the major work i am needing to do. Anyway, i've rambled enough if you made it this far i appreciate you reading all of this.
