As i don't find a an awd/low range transfert case made of aluminium, that match the side drop of the axle, i was wondering if a stand alone viscous coupler systeme that could be add to drive shaft line exits.

in other words transform a 4x2/4x4 transfert case in awd, i don't want an np203 because it's 35 KG heavier than the np203 or any other awd transfert case

for example , put a viscous coupler on the front drive shaft so you can still use 4x2, and when engage the 4x4 you are in full time 4x4 hi or low range, just missing the lock position.

When you say AWD, are you referring to a Full Time 4wd Transfer case like the NP203?

yes like the np203, but i am loocking for less weight than a np203 could add, as to put an np203 there is few things to change behind a th700r4 (input shaft, drive shaft front and rear)

Really there isn't any that I'm aware of. Not Original GM anyway. You find something in Atlas or another brand, but hold onto your wallet cuz you'll lose it. It kind of sounds like you're wanting the option of 2wd anyway. NP208 or NPO241C is probably the way to go.

Or maybe I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish.

i am a bit cranky :pepper:

i want to covert my truck to full time 4x4, just like the np203 does, but i want to keep it light; my final goal is to put a ls1 inside (weight 60 Kg less the the iron block).

the jeep nv242 is the the transfert i wish, but unfortunatly the drop side is ont the left where as on the k10 is on the right, Find a ford dana 44 that have the good side axle and put a nv242 on truck couls be the solutionn but ther is not a lot ford axle like that in France (i don't live in the good country, to live my passion).

here is a drawing of what i was thinking about :
