It would be to heavy for the frame. Wouldn't it?

There's a couple of guys on CK5 that have done the Cummins swap into a K5 Blazer and a Suburban. From what they said, it wasn't too hard of a swap.

So :grd:

Stick a diesel in it :D

i'm doing a 96 Cummins 12v in my 90 crewcab, after i put a pair of leafs and a Dana 60 under the front.

Stock 454s needing rebuilt are turning a pretty penny around here. I have yet to see one for less than $1,000.
i unloaded one for $800 a couple years ago, took a whopping 20 minutes before someone snatched it up... a longblock, already removed from the truck, and on a storage stand... no chance he could've ever heard it run.

There was a video on the 67-72 forum of a guy that stuck a 2 stroke detroit in a squarbody. He had 2 shifters, it was insane.

I wouldn't mind putting a duramax in. I am just not a fan of the sound a cummins makes. Like that video that wells posted. Just to loud!

How about a LS1? My friend/brother-in-law mentioned it.

That video of the Detroit 2 stroke is bad ass. I wouldn't mind that set up. A dependable motor, and I bet it really good on mpg too.
