Hitch bolts

I got a good deal on this hitch so figured I'd throw it on. It looks like it fits ok. The front and the back mounting holes line up but the middle holes don't. I couldn't bang or twist it to line up.There's two holes close together(should be able to see in the picture.
SHould I just leave them out? Or drill a sloppy hole?

I'd re drill the hitch and the frame in those middle 2 spots. That way you could get clean perfectly matched holes that aren't sloppy. Looks like there's plenty of area on the hitch tabs to redrill.

Be sure to use some heavy backing washers inside the frame too. Hitch hardware typically includes backing plates/washers that are 1/4" thick.

Are the other bolts tight? They look like it. If you loosen them all up may get enough slop to get the other ones in. Or closer to fitting.
Either way, I’d ream em and stuff em. And then crank the **** out of them.
You’ll get a lot of clamping force and the rest of the bolts will take the shear.

It did come with backing plates(short one) but I'll find something to use for missing one. I'll attempt to drill those spots out in the red spots

Is there a special drill bit to use?
I mostly have a bunch of master craft Titanium bits.

Generally speaking, if they come from harbor freight or they are the store brand at an auto parts store or hardware store, they aren't going to be good drill bits.

Commonly found Milwaukee, DeWalt, Irwin, etc are pretty decent.
