I've never heard of that in a 4x4. I thought they were 12 bolt up to 79-80s. Learn something new.

I never even got a rear anti-sway bar!

The park brake shoe will fit past the flange without any flexing, you have to tuck it around juuuuuust right. But it doesn't matter since you need the brackets too.

I guess I wasn't holding my lip right.

Never seen a factory rear sway bar on SBCs either. I'm soooo lost now. My life has meant nothing until now.

I know starting in 1992 K1500 Suburbans got a rear sway bar. I had 3 K2500 Suburbans (93, 94 & 95) and none of those had one.

This 'Burb I'm getting the stuff from is a BEAST at the rear!

Anti-sway bar, pan-hard bar, some other bar from the axle to the frame at the front.

They don't like for you to take pix (not sure why) but I'll try to sneak a few.

I'm sure it was a package for towing or something. Besides, those are GMT 800s not squares. In 88 or 89 when the 454 SS came out they had rear sway bars IIRC.

1/2 ton Burbs, Tahoes and Avalanches got a linked rear with coil springs. 3/4 ton versions carried on with rear leaf springs like previous generations.

It debuted in '90, no rear sway bar on the SS.

I took some pix but phone and laptop are having a spat.

I got the cover off of the rear axle (caught the oil, not on the ground) removed the bolt that holds the pin in the ring housing, removed that pin . . .

It has a posi like I've never seen before. Not a clutch type I don't believe. Weird looking. Had 2 small spring loaded pins on one side of the carrier and a plate? on the other. No way I could get to the 'C' clips.

I wish I could download the pix since I'm sure that would explain a lot. I had to walk away though. I'm going to Google all I can to try and figure this out but I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas.

That sounds like the normal Gov-Loc.

Oh hi there
You remove the little bolt on the side of the carrier
Pull out the Steel rod running thru the carrier

Then you need to kinda push and pull on the axle shafts while rotating the carrier and the little c clips kinda fall out

I’m the worst when it comes to pictures. honestly,I do like four steps then go oh **** I should have taken a picture of that

There are more than a few videos out there.
Look for inner axle shaft removal videos!!

Only part I don’t like is they mention magnets and pics to get the clips out. I have always rotated the carrier until the little clip is facing down shimmied the inner axle in and out and plop.
Out they drop
