First post here, and I'm glad I found these forums!

I spent quite a few years wrenching on classics at my friend's house when I was growing up. His dad is a master mechanic who was in the mix around the beginnings of the N.H.R.A. Dude didn't talk much and looked like Santa, but I know he had a double-blown hemi T-Bucket with slicks and Ed Roth pin striping on it. We would call the cops on ourselves before the neighbors had a chance, just to let the sheriff know we were about to turn it over and they were about to get a lot of calls... His daily driver, a 1944 Chevy Super Deluxe, and my friend's was a 1941 Plymouth. They now have about 100 classics on their property, last I was over, and I'm going to have to go visit soon!

Anyways, I now find myself the owner of my first square body and am getting my lists and logistics together to start on.

It's a 1980 C20 5.7L 350, has no rust (besides surface patina), about 70,000 miles, and is mostly stock. Still has the cigarette lighter, visors, and 8-Track stereo (got some 8-Tracks in storage I've gota go an get!)

Nothing too major so far is showing up. Looking and driving damn solid.
A/C not working, probable leak (no pressure/bad compressor?)
Squeal when accelerating until rpm levels out (coming from around the power steering pump and A/C comp.)
Slight wobble on the power steering pump pulley (comes and goes). Going to be replacing rear main seal, oil pan, transmission pan gaskets/filters...

Just starting to dive in, and going to be making this a daily driver.

This truck is bringing back some of those good old feelings of summers gone by, listening to vinyl and wrenching under the shade tree...
