Hey guys,

Just bought my truck today! Going thru it now.

Details:

-1980 (don't know what trim but it's basic)
-No power brakes
-350 with turbo 350
-Body is about 7/10. The previous owner did a lot of shade tree body work which looks decent but unsure if it just covered up rot or not. It's been sprayed a matte finish.
-Interior is 6/10. A lot of gauges and trim need to be fixed. Speedo doesn't work, heat may not work well. Door cards are shot. Bench Seat is ok, but will get a new cover.

The brakes are pretty weird. Pulls really hard on braking. I'm assuming bleed and new pads all around may help?

I believe you that's a 1980, but it looks like the PO did a front clip swap. If it all came from the same place, looks like it's from a 1983-84 truck. When you say it pulls, is it pulling to a specific side? If so, I'd say the side it pulls to is likely a sticking caliper. If it sat for a prolonged period of time, that's another good sign that points to that. All business aside, welcome to GMSB!

I can't be 100% on anything as that's the information the PO told me. I took a look at the front clip evolution on google and definitely a later truck front clip.

The truck pulls hard left upon braking and drives relatively straight with a slight pull to the right side. My theory is that it's either a rear left drum issue and all the lines need to be replaced/ flushed with total brake overhaul.

I'm here to learn.... I know BMWs and Audis, but this is my first Chevy! Ive been wanting a carbureted smallblock for a long time to tinker with!

Wow... talk about being totally ignorant... I think I screwed up here.

The truck is a 1980... but its a 305. I had to dig the dash out to get the VIN and its a CCG = 305. The seller was adamant it was a 350, but I should have known better as the block was blue, not orange. I am not even close to being knowledgeable about classic GM cars, but I should have done more research. Please someone slap me around a bit.
