i just picked up a 81 K20 and after doing some research i have came to the conclusion that i have the fugliest headlight and grill option Chevrolet could have came up with.

here is what i have, one set of lights in the grill and the second set is in the bumper

pretty much every other c10/c20 i have looked at has atleast two sets of lights in the grill and they look way better, will a grill off of any 73-87 chevy or gmc be a bolt on replacement or will some require a bunch of custom fitting? i would love to go aftermarket but my goal is to spend as little money on this car as possible so anything that other than important repairs is coming from the junkyard.

swapping to somthing like this would be ideal, is it as simple as bolting it on and connecting wires or is there gonna be more work involved?

No, to make your truck look like the one in the picture you would have to swap out the radiator core support the front fenders and the hood and you have to remove the cowl as far as I know. 73-80 is that style but the exact year of that truck is like 79,80 those years

Basically to swap to that front end you swap on the entire front clip and can reuse your original wiring harness. It has been done a few times on here. And to switch to the dual stacked headlight set up it is as easy as swapping the rad support, light assemblies and wiring harness. There is even a version of the dual headlight set up that uses the signal lights in the bumper.

Something like this would probably be the easiest. My dad's '87 Custom Deluxe K5 Blazer had this front end and I liked the way it looked.

You're right- That grille/turn signal combo you have is my least favorite out of all of them.

I'm kind of partial to the unique look myself...

The Oracle headlights are a good replacement also. They come with SMD halos.
