I recently inherited my grandparents house. I was cleaning out the garage and I came across this grill guard in the garage. I was thinking it was for my grandfather c20 that I been restoring but it wasn't.

Lately I've been thinking about just modding it and use it on the c20. My question is how should I mount it on the truck? I've seen where some people say just mount it to the frame, some say use the existing bumper mount holes. What would be the best way to mount it to the truck? I was thinking just to mount it to the frame as well as use the bumper mounting holes so I know it's safely mounted to the truck. What would you guys do?

Unless you are push starting sprint cars, the bumper bolt option is prolly fine. The guards are more of an accent/light mount than functional.

They usually mount to bumper bolts. Most push bars mount to top bumper bolts and loop under to the frame and have bolts going to the frame too.

I've pushed dead vehicles with my push bar. Never had an issue with it.

Thanks for the info. I have more plans with it down the road, I want to expand it so it goes over the headlight. I have plans down the road to build my own bumpers but this is just something for now.

Thanks you so much for the info. This one is setup that it would loop under to the frame but to do what I want to do with it I think I'm going to set it up to mount to the bumper and loop under to the frame just to give it more strength.

Just need to weld a couple tabs on. Same for light mounts too.
