Np205, Dana 60 front axle and manual locking hubs. This is all happening only in 4wd.

With both hubs engaged there is a horrible knocking sound up front. With either (left or right) hub disengaged the noise goes away. There is no noise with both hubs free.

Thoughts or ideas?

1) Axle shaft ujoint?
2) Possibly the axle touching the inside of the knuckle when turning?
3) Double cardan on the front driveshaft?
4) Front driveshaft ujoint at the axle?
5) Engine or tcase rubber mounts bad causing the drivetrain to move around?

U9date. Just put the truck on stands and looks like the drivers side isn't engaging in 4WD.

Video here.

An open diff will behave that way, power goes to the path of least resistance. Try holding the passenger side tire (or put it on the ground) and see if the drivers starts turning.
