My 88 crew cab has dual tanks and had a 6.2 diesel in it when I got it. I put a 95 lt1 in it and am using an after market hi pressure pump on the frame for the EFI, I would like to do a tank w/ fuel pump in the tank. Does anyone know if the sending unit and pump from a newer EFI equipped truck will fit my tank or any ideas as to a way to eliminate the noisy fuel pump on the frame rail?

I doubt it. The sending units are probably different lengths.

hmmmm.... didn't think about that, I was thinking more of the opening for the assembly. Well more research is at hand, its not a big deal the truck acts fine like it is. thanks

You can use a sending unit from an 87' TBI truck, with a fuel pump from a 96+ Silverado (EP381, I think). Very common on LSx swaps, and will work just fine for an LT1.

Sorry to hijack. What did you do for a return line on the EFI setup with the old sending unit?

One option here is to isolate the pump from the frame by mounting it with a piece if rubber between the pump and frame. Might be worth a try and would definitly be easier. Just a thought.

^that's what I was thinking too.

On a side note, how well does that lt1 push your truck? Judging by your picture, I'm guessing well enough?
