Fuel tank switch

I have a 1984 c30 it has the dual tanks both were working last year when i put it away but when i pulled it out this year one tank was empty the other was half full so i drove on the half tank to fill up filled up the other tank but when i ran the first tank down to an 8th tank i hit the tank switch and the gauge didnt move i can see the needle still move for the first tank when i drive around thinking its the switch but wanted to see what else it could be thanks

It’s the switch, or the switch valve. Have someone throw the switch a couple times while you are under there and see if there is any life going to it.

The switch is like $10 from LMC. Put it on a multimeter and see if it’s actually bad first. My bet is switch valve or another wiring problem. Everything goes bad, but I haven’t seen a bad switch yet.

Honestly first thing I'd do is pull the switch, check continuity, flip the switch the other direction see if continuity switches.
