So a little background if you havn't read my threads, my tanks havn't been used in the last 10 years becuse my rig ran on propain. Well i picked the better of the two tanks and flushed fuel and cleaners throught till it looked good. Then installed a new mechanical pump and ditched the electical pump they put on it. And Ive been running the truck every day for two weeks and not a hickup. Then toolin across a stubble feild it just died out.....Im thinking with the fuel cleaners im running and bumbing across the feild i knocked junk loose and plugged a filter (which i have two) But nope thos are nice and clean and i can blow air throught both no problem. So then i had my dad turn the key over and i watched the pump....little bit came out. So i took the pump off and blew air throught the lines back to the tank and then sucked it back throught and no problem cam out and threw the lines and clean. so i the put a little air throught the pump and nothing came out. So i wanted to see if i could get sucktion so i went the bench and put my finger on the hole and pumped it, no sucktion.... Did i get a lemon or did it suck crap? I would have thought that if anything could fit through that steel fuel line to the pump, that pump would have no problem. Kicks and giggles i hooked it all back up and nothing no fuel to the carb. So im taking it back today.

Given the history of the tank I would say something came loose and killed the pump. You may want to consider a filter before the pump just to prevent this in the future, and maybe keep a new spare filter or 2 in the glove box.

Running two filters is a good thing. One between the tank and hard line, and the one in the carb or at least one between the pump and carb.

Take the pump out and run it backwards while spraying some fuel system cleaner in it...sometimes thats all it takes. maybe a piece of garbage too big to get passed the G rotor.

You can run that pump backwards? Well don't matter they took it back and gave me a new/better one so we shall see.
