Worked on my 94 Silverado for 3 months, .5 of that time in the dark, until frustration whooped me . Saying this to say, taking a break from the labor of love renewed my passion and regenerated my desire to this finish my bitch in metallic flaked rootbeer paint, and old school solid face matte black Center Lines. I'm so close, but also afraid of what I'll do to it if I feel outmatched. Just had to tell how insecure a truck can make a soldier ...

Understood!!!
Our 6 month rebuild ended up taking 3 years and my daughter didn't even get to enjoy the truck her senior year of high school as planned.
Many times I was ready to stop and sell it. Couldn't even throw anything for fear of scratching the paint.

Odd first post. But feel free to vent to the GMSB therapy support group…
On a more specific note, not sure what has frustrated you so far, but it likely won’t be as frustrating as trying to lay down a metal flake paint job even if it’s not done half in the dark.

Only 3 months, that’s not a long time in the grand scheme of life. Try keeping it more fun and savor the challenges, accomplishments and triumphant. When it becomes a little too much, step away for awhile or work on something a little more easy; think about that challenge and figure out a different way to attack it and don’t give up soldier you will prevail. Thank you for your service. Respectfully Jack

My '85 K20 Suburban has been in a constant state of "rebuild" since a week after I bought it in March of 1994. Driving to my new duty station in Utah the water pump failed. So I installed a new one. Add brakes several times, a fan clutch, a power steering pump, a steering gear, a new Goodwrench long block, Edelbrock intake and carb, and headers. Various and sundry other bits and pieces over the years. So realistically to me anyway, it's been a 31 year "rebuild", always in the dirt, sometimes dark, and I am far from finished...
