Question for anyone with an early 80s 350 M-code engine and air conditioning. My 83 3/4 ton with 350 M-code has the throttle return control setup, which is supposed to prevent backfires, etc., when letting up on the gas quickly under heavy load. The TRC has a switch on the valve cover, vacuum switch by front of the engine, and a vacuum operated plunger on the carb.
I'm adding AC to the truck, and wondering about the fast idle solenoid that uses the same spot as the TRC plunger on the carb. If anyone has 350 M-code with both TRC and AC, what's being used? Did the M-code engine not use the fast idle solenoid, figuring the heavy duty engine could handle the compressor drag?
Thanks for the help.
