I have my 86k20 cab and body that i am going to be droping onto a 74 frame becaause my 86 frame was too thin and i was't going to fix that aha.

my truck has been sitting on brand new body mounts for a year and i am reading that i need to get 70's body mounts. I ama just wondering ..why? what is the differenc. I still need to buy new frame mounts but i know those are the same 73-87.. right??

From what I remember, the 80's mounts have a sleeve that fits into the frame.

Its the shape of the hole in the brackets that the bushing sets in that is different. 73-80 have a round hole and 81-87 have a double D shaped hole and the bushings correspond to the shape of the hole.

You can cut the rivets off to remove your 86 cab and rad sup brackets and bolt them to your 74 frame, then you can use your 86 bushings.
