Thinking of purchasing a couple of this type of light (not specifically this brand) for the garage and/or basement. Also thinking about a few for my father-in-laws machine shed and hayloft (Old 150 watt bulbs have been burned out for a couple years now...).
Curious if anyone has used this type of bulb and their thoughts regarding brand, likes and dislikes etc? They seem like a great option and some of them have hundreds of 5 star reviews (yes, I know some reviews are fake, but when there's like 800 of them, lots with pictures and full descriptions, they are typically real).

I was just talking to an electrician at work yesterday about relamping my garage with LED's.

He recommended that style of lights. He's a big fan of them.

I will use LED strip lights in my shop. No need for star wars looking devices, just need good light.

These just screw into existing bulb outlets, that's the reason for my interest. I already have some strip lighting but these would be used to replace bulbs. No new wiring or fixtures.

I noticed this, and it is handy. In my garage I have the old school two into one light socket adapter and I run two 100W equivalent LEDs, I think they are 13W..? Anyway, gotta love the cheap low energy light these things toss out. Watching the price go down all the time too, at least with the bulbs. The 100W equivalent are the most pricey but recently I see them going on sale and I scoop 'em up.

I also have a few old school vanity lights which is a piece of oak or fake brass panel about 16" long with 4-6 light sockets in them. I wire up a plug and hang my 'light bar' where I need it. I find these ugly fuckers at the used store or garage sales, usually free.

The more I look at this light you want to hang, the more I like it.

The thing that makes these nice, is you can adjust where it throws light. Want a wide area covered, open it up. Want a spotlight effect, close it down.

Well, I decided to order two of these. They will be my xmas gift from my wife, so I'll let you guys know how they are in a couple weeks, then maybe you can snag some on a post-holiday discount or something if they seem good.

Looks like a good solution to dark corners too.
I`ve been getting the LED replacements fro Costco and they make a huge difference in the amount of light in the garage. been replacing the four foot bulbs with LEDs too.
I have a couple of those metal trouble lights that gets so hot they`ll blister skin if You get up against them. I put LEDs in those and now they run nice and cool, much more light too.

I’ve been replacing my 4 footers with 4 ft LED’s from Sam’s club - really makes a difference. My son just got some 8ft ‘v’ strip lights but I haven’t been over to see if he has them up yet, they are supposed to ‘fan out’ the light more the the regular led’s

These are much cheaper than the 4ft florescent lights too. I was looking at replacing mine and home depot wants $100 for the light fixtures.

I was floored. I don't remember them being that much. So I'm gonna give these a shot. Because I can get 2 for less than 1 of the old ones.

Good looking but LED strip light are just too cheap right now. Seen 2 for 29.95 at store. FWIW I;m probably late to the game but a simple 100W LED bulb in a "trouble light" is amazing. Beat the daylights out of them and they still work plus minimal fire damage if sprayed with gas.
