clutch stuck to floor

hey guys i was out playing and roasted my clutch a bit hauling buddy out and after i got out to unhook from him as i was climbing back in my foot touched my clutch; heard a pop and the clutch dropped to the floor and now thats where she stays. its a manual clutch, no slave or anything. so im thinking it could be in the linkage itself or something inside, fork broke slipped, spring i dont know. if it is internal and i do have to drop the tranny, what should i be looking at replacing since im already that far? throwout bearing, entire clutch etc? thanks for the input. a little extra info the tranny is the SM465 with a NP205 running off a stock 350

Just have to look and see what came apart. If it's external it should be obvious. If you don't see anything, work the fork with a prybar or something to see if it operates as it should.

ok thanks ill give that a try. havent even had a chance to climb under and get a good look yet; stupid work lol

So it turns out it was external! Where the pushrod sets against the "spoon part" of the clutch fork had separated. I was able to get it back in place no problem. Is there some sort of spring or tensioner that may have broke that is supposed to hold it in place?

What I recall from those setups is it is just a pressure fit, nothing really keeps it from falling off. Not sure if 70's-80's truck have a little flat piece that goes on the end of the rod and sits in one of the two indented spots on the clutch fork like the 60's trucks did.
