She chose the color scheme, will be matte black and satin eggplant with lime green welting.
Rattle canned the color test, zero prep, she loves it.

Was her Dad’s car. I’m building it as safely as possible, getting disc brakes, all new hard lines and soft lines, rewebbed the seatbelts (lime green), V rated tires that meet both DOT/TUV standards…

It sat in the barn from 2006 to 2021. Took 4 hours to get it running like a sewing machine. Has a Sears am/fm mono tuner and single Sparkomatic (Radio Shack) speaker. Is completely gutted at the moment save for driver seat and factory sound deadening panels. Sunroof is stuck closed, does not leak, and will likely stay that way.

Picked up the 9oz canvas yesterday to dye purple and recover the factory seat centers. Have several yards of lime green vinyl that I made new upholstery cards and all the seat piping/fender welting out of.

Nice. My first car was a 71 Super Beetle. Of course, like everything I own, I had to "Hotrod" it out. After a year of buying parts and having an Uncle who knew VW's in and out, we had a monster 176hp 2276cc, dual weber carbed, fire breathing dragon pushing me down the road lol..

Parents made me sell everything I bought or built with a V8. I didn't understand at first, dad and uncles all had big blocks and street raced, thought he'd like my cars. Turns out Mom had told him if I get hurt in a car she will never forgive him. So once I figured out their game I bought a bug, built some small hot rod VW motors . Final version was a 2110 you couldn't kill it it, fear of death kept you from beating on it like a small motor. The small motors you just screwed your foot to the floor, can't do that with a stroker. I was 15 or 16,moved out at 17 so I could keep the GTO I brought home.

The dual carb 2332cc this car used to have got “swapped out” by a local rip off shop 20+ years ago. Along with the 4 wheel discs, adjustable struts, triangulated strut brace… He told the fossil-in-law that “stock was safer” for an 80 year old to drive.
Wife and I were living in WA, car was in TN/MS with her father.

This is the same f-i-l that sold my 85 F250 XLT Lariat HD extended cab long bed with a 460, and bought the 262 V6 swb 1/2t as his “gentleman farmer” truck. So I’m turning the C10 into a lowrider… In his honor of course…
