What are you guys doing for your wall behind the seat? I’m not sure if I want to do carpet but I don’t want to leave it bare either. Looking for ideas.

Landscape fabric and fiberglass resin to “harden” the original cardboardesque black thing. If I can then glass in a good behind the panel stiffener? Fishing rod holders, because the gun rack is used for our walking canes.

The previous owner of my rig cut 2 big holes in the back of the cab for some sort of vents that constantly leaked. I had to to do some "creative" patchwork after I removed them. From the inside I used 2 layers of Kilzmat sound deadening plus a metal storage shelf I'd been wanting. I attached that with Rivnuts. On the outside I riveted sheet metal patches and a couple layers of seam sealer. I don't have pics of the finished outside but it actually turned out decent and is watertight. Gotta love redneck repairs.

That space is where your sub-woofer goes. One 12" duo voice coil speaker. Air space is correct. Pulled it out to swap the speaker, someone played it too loud!

That funky cardboard thing in mine got wet a few too many times and had a funk to it. Got rid of it, haven't decided yet exactly what treatment it will get. I'm thinking sound deadener and some sort of speaker/storage, to be determined.

Yes, whole series of Turbo Diesels. That tracked crawler was my son's, hardly used compared to the dump truck and mixer. I unearthed it from the junk pile looking for something else. My grandson will be the next one to put it in service.

I just had KilMat+Noico foam back when I had a bench seat. I just set stuff on top of the rear cross sill, never had a tray or anything back there

Then when I did the buckets/console, I put the back cab panel carpet up that you can buy from several vendors. Used velcro all along under the window and random spots down below to hold it. Tucked it in behind the speakers. Still no tray or anything, the seats pretty much hold anything in

I had a storage unit made for my 84. I designed it then had guys in my shop weld it up out of 1/16" steel. I'll eventually carpet under and behind it

So it likely had a blow thru bed mounted speaker cabinet at some point… More commonly done to minitrucks back in the day, but…
