Battery won't stay charged

I bought a brand new battery yesterday put it in my 85 k10 and it starts up an runs great, but when I shut it off and try to start it when it's still warmed up, we'll it won't start? But starts fine when it's cold, does anyone know what that could be? Thanks!

Bad starter. Chevy starters are very common for this behavior because the selonoid is so close to the exhaust.

Bad starter. Chevy starters are very common for this behavior because the selonoid is so close to the exhaust.

^^ this is heat sink. Wrap the starter, there is a heat shield or use a remote starter solinoid.

I put a remote solinoid on my pass side rear inner fender. Pretty simple to wire.
