We are thinking of fixing this bracket and ensted of using the bushing putting bearings in ensted will I work?

Hard to understand what you're trying to say. However, I machined a polished & hardened stainless steel oversized cross pin and used solid rod ends on the pivot points. Made new 1/4" thick nylon bushings to replace the thin plastic one. It's smooth as butter, has zero flex or play and will outlast the truck.
