My door locks have been working sporadically for the last 3-4 weeks and then, they completely stopped. I pulled off the drivers side door panel and there is no power going to the switch. I checked the 30amp accessory fuse and it's good. The black tape around the wires is a little frayed where it goes into the door but nothing is worn thru. What should I look for next? I haven't inspected the passenger side door setup and don't know what to try next. Electrical is one of my many weak points.

if you try looking at the factory service manuals on charm.li

there maybe a troubleshooting list you can print off and check off as you pick through it.

such may yield a list of methodical priorities in an order that could save you some time and money. (like fix this wire, before buying a switch / part/ fuse....hope you don't need a regulator....but such things also fail,

anything looking green from being 40 plus years old?....

I live where things are rusted/ corroded in a sea of dampnees and salted sand.
I replaced one on a 2002 after trying the switch first. ...returned the switch as the GM mexico original felt better than the new dorman chinese. (did not look in a manual,...at the time just needlessly trying parts cheaper first).
