Antenna mystery - 88 Suburban

The black cap comes off. There are three screws that hold the base to the top of the fender.

It's an antenna that was used on a few styles of FWD GM cars that most people don't care about anymore, and was also used on the very late squarebody trucks. There's no hope of it being reproduced until more people are focused on doing 100% stock restorations on later squares.
Would a car with a rear mounted fender antenna have it? I have a 88 lesabre antenna in my first car which had a mast antenna oe

Iirc, that uses the more common GM round base.

Maybe give these guys a call. I was able to order replacement antennas for my '91 Cherokee and my '65 C20 through them. They didn't have the one, so I contacted them to see if they could order it, they ordered it and then contacted me when their shipment arrived. https://www.wearecb.com/am-fm/
