Parallel flow unit. But will need some mounting modification. I have also used a completely stock cleaned tube/fin unit on a single cab truck and it cooled just fine with ford blue orifice tube. I am running the parallel unit on my suburban
Found oreily have a retrofit unit for older trucks:
part number:636420 http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/OMR0/73642.oap?ck=Search_636420_-1_710&keyword=636420+
The stock GM condenser (P/N 3053293). This condenser will easily handle the heat transfer load generated by a standard cab under any ambient conditions - certainly those found in MI.
From 1985 -91, that condenser was the only one specified for all series of the GM light truck line. It was over-sized by design. This allowed it to be used with any truck that was fitted with the C60 system (standard under dash mounted) or the C69 system (under dash plus an additional overhead unit). That included all crew cabs, Suburbans and passenger vans.
I have 3 original units laying around - in case the one in use ever fails, but they never do. Unless you poke a hole in one, they seem to last forever.
And, perhaps most importantly, it will drop right in - without any modifications.
I have a 1987 V10 that the AC components were removed. I would like to collect the OEM part numbers if possible! does anyone have that info? I'm looking for Compressor, Hose's, condenser, evaporator, Orifice tube, drier and to top it off I want to stay with R12. Thanks everyone...
