If I remember correctly it goes to the valve cover.

ive got the pcv valve on the ds valve cover going to the intake and then the ps valve cover had a port that goes to the pcv filter witch is in the actual air cleaner.

The pcv valve should be on the passenger side cover and connect to a port on the front-center of the throttle body. The driver's side cover has the oil fill cap and a hose closer to the firewall that's connected to the tbi choke collar.

The pic below shows my version of the choke collar connection since I modded it with a salad bowl.

yep definitely goes to the vc, it's a breather basically.

Ditto, Valve Cover Grommet. Kind of a smog device of sorts. A breather but any blow by not gotten by the PCV valve will sucked into the the throat of the TB.

So in reading this, I think my valve covers were on the wrong sides.... Lol PO did a lot of half assed stuff. Including not putting gaskets on the intake manifold or the thermostat housing. Idiots shouldn't work on engines.... Damn guess that means I better hire a mechanic!

Actually, it won't matter how the valve covers are installed. Some aftermarket covers have a spot for a breather on both sides. If using the stock covers, then it will matter to the extent of how easy it will be to properly install hoses and other related items.

EDIT: why hire a mechanic when you could easily fix those items yourself?

agreed no need to swap sides just hook it up, and you're done.

you can even plug it off and then run a push in type breather cap in the VC hole.

Both my vc's have breather holes. lol one had a breather and the other one had a PVC valve hooked up to the carb.

Guess I should mention that the vc's are off right now anyways.

I tried eliminating the choke collar hose with a push-in breather but it didn't work, it started blowing oil out of the dipstick tube at high rpm's. Thought the breather cap might be defective but switching to another brand made no difference. Went back to a hose connection and the problem was gone.

I put chrome vc's on mine and used a breather, pcv and then oil fill and that was it, mine was puking oil out the pcv breather cap I had, I heard they were bad for it the big roung pcv breather caps, compared to a reg. pcv, which I am using now, and my motor is all new. I know blow by in older worn engines can cause oil pushing out of strange places.

I think my stockers only had 3 holes though, one oil fill screw in cap, one pcv, and one breather tube to the collar.

I think the rubber grommets are different sizes as well on each side.
