add a leaf squeak!

so my add a leaves squeak a ton and it's driving me crazy. is it possible to add the plastic slider things between the leaves? and ive read spring oil can mess up modern springs.... what should i do?

These might work, depending on where exactly the noise comes from. They are teflon buttons like used on the factory springs.

I had put an add-a-leaf on my Chevy ZR2 years ago. It also squeaked. At the edge where the add a leaf was hitting the main leaf it was pretty sharp- and you could see where it was rubbing. I used a grinder to taper the edge of the leaf so it would slide around better. Also put some grease on it also. Never had the issue again for the next 3 years or so I owned it.
