So, just earlier today I went on a mission to replace my 91 Suburban's rear a/c blower motor thinking it was bad. Now, the motor would run but make this God awful binding/grinding sound. So I bought a new motor and removed everything for the rear a/c and pulled the motor. (Don't set it down it vertically on the fan blades!!)

On further inspection I found that some of the plastic was deformed on BOTH the fan and blower motor case. Upon really looking at the fan blades for a little while I found I could move the spring used as a "clamp" to hold the fan blades on the motor axles. So I took screwdriver and moved the spring so it lined up with one of the two slits for the fan I could get a pick under the very top bit of the spring and walk it off. Bam! You can adjust your fan blades.
