Hello my fellow square body lovers!!! I have just recently purchased a 87 SWB 2wd truck. It has a 350 transmission in it an I am wanting to replace it with the correct 700R4. When I bought it it didn't have a driveshaft in it...so i'm reaching out for some knowledge to find out what driveshafts would be compatible with it with little or no cutting or re balancing!! Any info will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

So does that mean a ds from a 700 will work in a 350 but not vice versa?

I think it means that's 5 less bags of mulch you should carry.

I may be missing something, but if the truck originally had a 700r4 in it, and you're going back with a 700r4, why can't you just buy a stock replacement d-shaft and it fit?? He's going original rear, original tranny....seems it would just be an OE replacement item.
