My son is working on his 84 Scottsdale k10 for a school project. The wires going to the computer fried... also melting the wires by the fuse block. He is in search of a wiring harness that contains the wires for the computer. Does anyone have any leads or advice? Whats the process for getting rid of the CCC? Thank you.

I've never seen a new harness that supports CCC or factory TBI.
Junkyard, ebay or a member here has one for sale.

Are you in California? Is this originally a California Vehicle? Only CA Squares had CCC carbs all other states got dual pump capacity, qjets and a esc computer behind the glove box. People get this confused. Let us know for sure on the first 2 questions as well as 1 more, does this carburetor have a throttle position sensor should be drivers side front corner of the carb. If the answer to all or some of those questions is no.This will get a lot easier.

We are in California and this is an original California truck. Yes, the esc computer is behind the glove box. Will need to check on throttle position sensor. My son has done a lot of work. All sanded and ready for paint once the wire situation is taken care of.

Let me know about the throttle position sensor. Is thus truck going to be subject to an emissions inspection?

No as of now on the inspection. It's registered in a no smog county. Just trying to get it running so he can paint it and drive it for the rest of his senior year. I appreciate the help.

Yep that's a California only deal, and I thought 85 only ,but I guess it's 74 also. Okay get me a pic of the distributor so I can verify which distributor an 84 with ccc is using. Is this truck going to be subject to emissions testing?

Get a quadrajet from a 700r4 equipped 50 states GM truck, get it off a truck that has 700r 4 transmission if you have 700r4 which I'd bet you do. I believe @Doppleganger or @custodian has a rebuilt he bought from mountain man carbs. Option 2 Buy a holley or edelbrock, buy an adapter plate, buy a TV correction kit,and I still need a pic of your distributor, you may or may not have to change it also.
