78 K20 4 speed interior questions

I'm finally putting my old 78 back together and have lost or forgotten a few things I hope you can help me with. 1: what goes in the shift indicator window on trucks with 4 speed manual? Is it just a blank plate? 2: I have decided to delete the AC on this truck and I'm installing manual kick panel vents. Does anyone have the manual vents and inside the cab hood release? If so, is the hood release handle mounted under the vent handle or on the dash? Also, do the manual vents just draw air from the cowl, or are there additional openings on the factory cab? 3: does anyone know if you could get Silverado trim without AC?

Q1: A piece of black tape, like wide electrician's tape, is attached to the clear plastic of the cluster and covered with the bezel
Q3: AC was a free flow option and not tied to Silverado. So - yes - you could get a Silverado without AC.
