I have 1985 C10 with a305/700r4 non ESC. Can anyone answer why in overdrive it makes a humming noise and when it’s disengaged it goes away? Also I noticed that when I disconnected the knock sensor the over drive did not work and when plugged back in it works? I got rid of all the ESC distributor, carb and computer box under the glove box.

Not an expert on the 700r4. But I do know that the TV cable is vital to the survival of that transmission. If you replaced the Carburator and didn't get that TV cable just right that may be part of the issue. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.
