Hey boys,

I'm just prepping for my LS swap in my truck (see signature).

It currently has the original 5.7/700R4 combo with 158,000kms. I've purchased an 04' LQ4 6.0 and 4L80E trans with 240,000kms.

I'm targeting 500 crank HP on the motor build but will need to have one of these trans rebuilt/built to handle this.

Would it be much cheaper to build the 700R4 vs the 4L80E?

Is there much advantage to running one vs the other? (Ratios/reliability/ease of install etc)

4l80e is a better trans. Ratios similar but it is much stronger. You have a complete package, so that would be the one to build. 700r4 can be built up, but likely not any cheaper. Might be even more expensive.

Great, thanks! Appreciate it.
