I know that my 68 doesn't fit into this forum site but I am having trouble finding info or helpful info for this truck.

I am having trouble with the bed. It is a rusty mess. But the skins are in good shape. My dad has a bed in storage with a very good bed but the skins are all jacked up.

From what I can tell it is all nuts and bolts, except for two weld marks towards the back tailgate.

Can I use the best parts from both beds to make one good bed? I am pretty sure I can was just wondering if there were any tips or tricks?

I'm not 100% familiar with that year span but if it is made like the 73-87 I would say yes you can. If the bed sides bolt on like they do for our trucks you can make one good bed out of those two.

I think so too. There are bolts everywhere. And I only see two little weld beads towards the back by the tailgate.

The only prob is is that the spare bed is on the other side of the state in the back corner of our lot behind like five trucks!

Wondering if I should bring the torch just in case or angle grinder?

If you use the torch on anything with the bed its going to warp and ruin everything you cut, its to much.

Get a small four inch grinder and a pack of cut off wheels.
