6.2 ran gass through??

Am looking at a nice 93 ext cab short box 4x4 1500 with the 6.2. It idles rough won't drive and I was told it needs a new ip pump. I have one laying around and the price for the truck is right. He said his daughter put gas in it and that's what killed it. What other damage could be done

I ran gas through my IP one time, just died and I laughed and fixed my problem, no issues afterwards what so ever

AFAIK it's possible (according to a military friend) to run gasoline through them in emergencies if you add a quart of motor oil or something to lubricate the injection pump. If it still runs bad perhaps it was damaged. It's possible just replacing the injection pump will fix the problem though.

I don't *think* it should have damaged any of the rest of it, I wouldn't think that would ruin injectors, of course who can 100% know... (if it ran high EGT's or something, burned valves, obviously other things could be wrong... or her doing far worse things than "just running gasoline through" and they didn't say) I wouldn't pay a price that "oh the ONLY thing wrong is an injection pump" though, more like "you ruined the engine, replacing an IP may salvage it but i'm assuming not" prices.

People will say anything to sell you something!

I bought a frame from a part time cop/military dude with 3/4 ton axles. Guy said they were 4:10s for sure. Guy has built other projects. gave me the whole baby is in the oven just need to get rid of it speel.

I was to lazy to pop the diff cover before I took it home.

Turns out 3:42 gears and an exploded Gov Bomb. Filled with grey sludge. I know the guy knew cause he took all the big chunks out and re siliconed it.

Its lucky I lost his contact info cause I was about one step away from going back and beatin his freakin ass!

Its not all bad though the frame is mint and I got a nice set of mickey Thompson rims with it. But now im looking at redoing the whole rear axle or finding another set of axles. at least if I dump $1500 into it it will be done right with a true trac.

But man a cop freakin rippimg me off with nothing but *********.

Im with Columnshift its probably something more serious then a pump.

On rock auto the gears I got wer 150 each. You are right some people will say anything to sell but most country folk are still usually strait forward
