My neighbor has offered up some 3/4 dodge axles for free to get them out of his garage. From what I understand they are older Dana 60s. Will they fit if not what will it take to make them fit? Is it worth the work to make them fit? Right now this is all the info I have on the axles.

Going on 78 K10.

Also I live outside of Ft. Bragg and they are having an auction when I'll be on mid tour leave and many sets of Used HMMWV tires will be up for grabs 37x12.5xR16.5 what's the most I should pay for a decent set if anyones picked up some of these before?

Thanks for the help guys

If they are Dana 60s they are 1-ton axles. Got any pics?

I haven't seen them yet I'm in Afghanistan right now. He asked my wife if I'd want them since he had to part with them. I will be home next week on leave. The only thing I know is they are out of an older 3/4 ton dodge.

If they are for sure from a 3/4 ton dont waste your money, a Dana 44 isn't that much stronger than the 10-bolt front you already have.

That's not a bad price if they are in good shape. $100 a piece would be even awesomer lol.

I think there were some old 3/4 Dodges that actually had a D60 as part of a HD package or plow package or something similar.

Those are the newer trucks, '94 or whatever the new body style was.

GM went Driver side drop in 88 on 1/2 and 3/4 tons, Dodge went DSD in 94. Ford always has been DSD.

I was searching forums and found this link it's pretty awesome explains a lot about the def axles and what not I learned a lot from it. I will know for sure what it is when I come home next week and I'll post pics of them. I hope they are 60s if so awesome free axles are always awesome.

Thanks for all the help and input guys I really appreciate it

IF he don't want them, I'd take them anyway until you can investigate what they are. If you don't want them, sell them. Jeep guys also buy Dodge axles for conversions, and Dodge guys, believe it or not, they use Dodge axles too. So they can be sold if you don't need them. I hate to see good auto parts scrapped. You know there is someone that can use them somewhere.
