im looking for some help with a 1988 tbi suburban it will cut out on the freeway sometimes i have replaced the control module and that seemed liked it helped for a week but it just did it again replaced the fuel filter and set the spark gaps the ses light came on then when i went to see what the code was the light was off

i had a code 32 and a code 42 both of wich are now gone

could it be as simple as the o2 sensor

32 - EGR valve
42 - ESC circuit

I would test your pick up coil and ignition coil.

i just purchaced this for my wife the guy before me had a care ignition module on it and a crane coil i removed the module and left the coil should i test that with a ohm meter

BTW, welcome to GMSB, Nice Blazer project you got working. I guess I missed you coming in since you didn't do an into thread. Glad to have you here. Thanks for posting up pics in an album. You've got that one coming along way. It would be nice to see you do a build thread on it in the construction section.

Update us where you're at on the 88 Burb and lets see what we can do to figure out that issue and get it resolved. I think you're on the right track though.

of course testing the pick up is the smart thing to do, will tell you this though that is usually what will be wrong, is the inside of your dist full of brown rusty gunk or a lot of play in the dist shaft? check for play as they are known to go bad also
