Hey all, I'm working on a 1981 chevy G30 with 350 and automatic. Im trying to make brake lights and running lights work. I have turn signals. Normally I'm able to find the problem in the rear wiring pretty easily but this whole thing is a mess from front to rear. I went under the dash to look and and see why there might not be running lights and brake lights and its a mess too. Chopped harness everywhere. Column turn signal switch wire connector had a torn or burned off looking black wire on the very end. When touching wires I Saw and heard an arc but couldn't find its origin lol removed headlight switch and power is intermittent. I think I'm battling more than grounds here. There's cut and spliced wires everywhere.

I am looking for a replacement harness or harnesses for under dash with convenience center and probably a underhood to bulkhead.
I thought about wrecking yard but Im hoping to just buy one new and plug and play. Looking online could only find harnesses for pickups and cars. Maybe someone here knows a source?
I also thought could I use a pickup harness?? It seems like it would be similar to my 78k10 Both have wipers on the dash and probably same or similar turn signal switch and being chevy it seems like it would be reasonably close. Might have to lengthen a couple things but that would be no problem. Thank you

@Ricko1966 do you think a pickup harness could work in a van without too much trouble. Especially a new one.
the dog house and the routing of wires will be changed at least somewhat, but the biggest things will make it hate your life. the simple short nature of the battery cable alone wont help you much.

Oh yea I think a pickup harness would work. It'll take a little unwrapping and rerouting but I think NBD.

I felt the same way lol. But won't have to cut, solder and shrink everything this way. It seems to include all the switches too though. Everything plug and play like original.
