I got my father's 1980 GMC k3500 camper special that he ordered from the factory and I'm getting ready to start making some repairs on it cuz it's never had anything done , I would like to put 18 inch rims on my 1980 k35 00 dual wheel four-wheel drive truck, can I get wheels from a newer vehicle that's been wrecked and will they work? If so, what years will fit?

The lug pattern for GM trucks with 8 lug wheels is the same for square body trucks and OBS trucks, and is the same through 2010. The other makes changed around that time too. So the early (2007-2010) GM truck factory alloys (or aftermarket wheels that fit those trucks)will fit, but anything newer will require adapters.
I have an OBS crew cab, so I'm eventually going with the 2000-2006 PY0 factory aluminum wheels. Keeps the tire height the same, and gives me a lighter wheel and better heat transfer than the steel wheels. Those are 16"x6.5" so a little smaller than what you want. I think 2007-10 trucks are when GM started offering more larger diameter rims.
