Once again I’m needing assistance with my ‘83 K5. See pics. The black grill is what I removed during my restoration. I realize it’s not correct for an ‘83 model with quad headlights and the parking lights in the grill. I can’t explain why it fit unless the entire core support was replaced with an ‘85-‘87 model to accept this grill. Since I like the ‘85–‘87 style better than the ‘83 style, I ordered a new ‘85-‘87 grill from Summit Racing (TriPlus Automotive brand) thinking it would be the same as my old one but the mounting locations aren’t the same and it doesn’t have accommodations for the parking lights in the grill. In looking at websites for other companies that also sell grills, I still can’t figure out which grill I need. I also provided a link to USA1 Industry grills. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks, again!

I now realize after looking up the grill PN 150-4085-11 that I had mistakenly ordered from Summit is for an ‘87 single headlight configuration Blazer instead of a dual headlight however the question remains. Will an ‘87 style grill with duals and parking lights fit my ‘83? In other words, are both ‘83-84 and ‘85-87 model core supports the same to accept interchangeable grills or was my ‘83 core support replaced with a ‘85-87 model core support to accept the ‘85-87 grill? If so, I wonder why each parts store specifies different grills for ‘83-84 and grills for ‘85-87. Perhaps they do that just to show which style of grills came on each year Blazer from the factory however they should specify all of the Blazer year model generations that the grills will actually fit, if that’s truly the case.

The 83-84 grille is the same mounting as the 85+. The only difference should be the color. The core support is the same.

Yes, all '81-87 grilles interchange. You just need to make sure you order a grille for a dual headlight setup vs a single. The single's won't have mounting locations for the inboard running lights/turn signals

Only the 1983-88 grill with dual headlights will have the OEM mounts for that square parking lap behind it. The 1983-84 V22 Silverado grill has a narrower center bar in it that flows all the way across into the headlight bezels.

The 1985-88 V22 Silverado grill has a much wider center bar on the grill. The headlight bezels are totally different too. No center bar to match the grill and actually recessed (flush) to the headlights...
