Weird problem sbc spits and sputters till dies then start back up and its fine again

Sorry getting confused with other projects, meant 600cfm. I will definitely do a once over of my float height and mixture screws, should I be checking my accelerator pump too?

Weird problem sbc spits and sputters till dies then start back up and its fine again

It’s a Holley 650 street warrior, I checked my float level about a month ago and was still good but can check again tonight. Has a relatively new fuel filter. I should add that it has also done this when driving around town going under 60 and when i come to a stop just dies out and once again...

Weird problem sbc spits and sputters till dies then start back up and its fine again

Okay thank you, what do you think my next step should be to fix the problem. I have a fresh carb on it. I just find it weird it only does it every 5-10 times I drive it and then is perfectly fine again after starting back up

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

For some reason that idea never crossed my mind, it does look just like my rear end. These are photos of the Camaro rear end here

Weird problem sbc spits and sputters till dies then start back up and its fine again

I have a recently rebuilt sbc 350 wild a mild build, I daily drive it now that the project is done but recently about once a week I will be driving and after about 5 mins or less of driving it will spit and and sputter until it does, almost acts like the timing is insanely off but after I I come...

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

I would prefer relatively easy swap if possible which seems like this might be a decent bit of work to do, would your recommend not using this axle due to the differences or is it worth a shot considering it’s a good deal and can’t find any truck axles around me?

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

The truck is not 4 wheel drive and believe the length of the axle is 56” backing plate to backing plate. Not too worried about top speed more about how bad the mileage would be highway driving, but also want a it to be fun to drive around town so understand it’s give and take for that aspect. So...

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

It is a posi rear end, which is the main reason I would like to swap mine out, I currently have a non posi 3.08 in it now. My main concern was the overall length of the axle?

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

Might be a stupid question but I have no clue about rear ends. I have found a 1970 8.5” Camaro 10 bolt with 4.11 gears and was wondering if I can make it fit in my 1981 sierra. Thanks

    Cylinders washed need help

it is a brand new, ran for about 20 mins totally when setting the timing. it did idle well with the timing set (idled a bit high and seemed rich) but didn't die. after flooding it I tried to take it for the first test drive the next day and set my accelerator pump and idle screw to base settings...

    Cylinders washed need help

I unfortunately don’t have a vacuum gauge right now but I will go get one. Not sure what power valve is in it, whatever comes stock in the carb. I believe ignition is about perfect now so that should be good.

    Cylinders washed need help

I already set the float height like how you said and did the mixture screws, I will adjust more like you are saying when it runs again. Do I need to do anything about the cylinder wash or do I just need to get it running again and tune from there?

    Cylinders washed need help

It’s a Holley 600 cfm street warrior, when it first ran the accelerator pump was way off but did run fine just high idle, if I lean it out and set the accelerator pump and idle to a factory setting would you recommend trying to start it or are there other steps first?

    Cylinders washed need help

I didn’t at the time but I just pulled #1 plug and this is how it looks. I honestly don’t think there could’ve been much that got past either but it’s basically it a fresh motor and don’t want to do any damage.

    Cylinders washed need help

I’ve recently completed my Sbc swap and just threw a new carb on it and it fired right up but was running a little rich, I went out yesterday to adjust the carb and I couldn’t get it to start after leaning it out (it was also very cold out) so played around with it and put it back to where it...

Hydro boost brakes awful sound after finishing motor swap

Oh ok, mine only ever had one line off so wasn’t much air. Mine was almost a grinding noise but slowly went to a whistle and now nothing. But I assume I didn’t have much air in the system which is probably why it was so easy to bleed

Hydro boost brakes awful sound after finishing motor swap

Is yours almost a grinding noise or a whistle?

Hydro boost brakes awful sound after finishing motor swap

I didn't get around to doing a proper bleed tonight but while messing with the carb and had it running for a while I took the cap off for about a minute and forgot about it totally, but now thinking back the sound went away. not sure how long it took to go away but it’s not there currently.
