Broken backing plates
I am replacing the wheel cylinders on my repaired backing plates, and I had to use a cold chisel to cut free the rusty bolts. Well I managed to cut through the bolts, but I also blew out the bolt holes on the backing plate. The hole is now open to the large hole through which the wheel cylinder... -

Seatbelt bolt sizes
I am sourcing a new drivers seatbelt and I used a 7/8" 6 point socket to remove the bolt (if I remember correctly). Looking around in the junkyards, I see earlier models with that bolt (mines an 87) and a different style belt assy. and newer models (86's are as close as I can find) with a torx... -

Frame/Welding questions
The corrosion on the frame of my project truck is terrible. Rust has eaten the braces for the crossmembers and there are holes in the frame that I can see, I'm sure more that I can't. Is it feasible to source or build a new frame? I am thinking of welding in some new crossmembers and braces...- Ty'1987

Drum brake backing plate repair.
I have an 87 v1500 with rear drums, which I am replacing with all new parts. The backing plate, which mounts to the axle is very worn and I will need to have new nibs welded on to let the shoes rest properly. Is it gonna be cheaper to have these repaired or replaced? I googled the part under... -

Cleaning rusty brake drums with vinegar
So Im trying out a vinegar soak on my brake drums. I used a small hammer and a wire brush for scraping corrosion and getting close to bare metal. Then I put them in a tub and filled it with several gallons of distilled white vinegar. As of now it's been about 3 hours; I'll pull them at 5 and see... -

Wiring fuel sender to gauge cluster harness
I am fixing a horrible mess of hacked wires on my "new" GMC 87 K10, so of course I've got my truck's dash pulled apart and now I'm stuck. The drivers side fuel sender wire has been spliced, spliced, and respliced and now meanders from the sending across the frame to a loom along the inside pass...- Ty'1987
