I'm not sure on the ratio I have at the time...finding out the ratio is probably my next steep. My loads are not that heavy,so I'm not really worried on my granny gear.

I do have a spare axle from a 2001 3/4 ton silverado that I had in mind. Not sure on the gear ratio since I haven't looked at it yet. Thanks for the info by way. It makes more sense now.

So I'm new to the forum...having trouble with my 73 3/4 ton. Just did a diesel swap on it,I went from a 454 to a 6.2 diesel but having tuable with my top speed. I'm gettin about 50mph top speed on my 4 speed manual. Just asking for help to figure out what I need next for a higher top speed...
